The Flower Festival, one of the biggest celebrations celebrated in the Island of Madeira, is a homage to this special relation of the Madeirans with the flower and the Spring. In addition to many initiatives you can see the Flor exhibition in the city center of Funchal, Largo da Restauração as well as flower rugs that abound on Avenida Arriaga. The Flower Festival presents on Sunday the allegorical procession, made up of more than 1000 extras that parade between Avenida Sá Carneiro and Praça da Autonomia.
The flower festival is held every year in the month of May.
